Who we are

This website address is: https://jeremysaunders.com and the site is run by Jeremy Saunders, a designer based in Australia.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

By default WordPress does not collect any personal data about visitors, and only collects the data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users, which this site does not allow. However some plugins may collect personal data, listed below.

Comments are disabled on this site. I have no interest in hearing your opinions about my work.

Media

The ability to upload media to this site has been disabled. Because it’s my site.

Contact forms

Your information is stored on our private mail server. It is not shared with anyone and is kept only as long as we need to use it to contact you. It is not used for marketing purposes of any description. It feels somewhat superfluous to mention this – it’s called a contact form so we feel that it should be self-explanatory that it contains information we need to use to contact you but this is the situation in which we find ourselves.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos from Vimeo). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. We have literally no control over this.

Caching

This site utilises caching in order to facilitate a faster response time and better user experience. Caching potentially stores a duplicate copy of every web page that is on display on this site. All cache files are temporary, and are never accessed by any third party, except as necessary to obtain technical support from the cache plugin vendor. Cache files expire on a schedule set by the site administrator, but may easily be purged by the admin before their natural expiration, if necessary. We may use QUIC.cloud services to process & cache your data temporarily. Please see https://quic.cloud/privacy-policy/ for more details.

Server logging and Analytics

When you use any website the computer hosting the site will collect information about your operating system, your IP address and other details including the time spent on the site, where you visited from and the pages you viewed. This data is only stored on the server and is not made available to any third party.

The IP address of visitors, user ID of logged in users, and username of login attempts are conditionally logged to check for malicious activity and to protect the site from specific kinds of attacks. Examples of conditions when logging occurs include login attempts, log out requests, requests for suspicious URLs, changes to site content, and password updates. This information is retained for 60 days. No other analytics are used on this site, particularly those created by Google.

This site is part of a network of sites that protect against distributed brute force attacks. To enable this protection, the IP address of visitors attempting to log into the site is shared with a service provided by ithemes.com. For privacy policy details, please see the iThemes Privacy Policy.

How we protect your data

If you send me an email either directly or via a contact form I download it to my computer and my work phone. My data is protected by private access dual factor authentication and an array of unique passwords. I lock the door when I leave the studio and try to not lose my phone more than once or twice a year.

What data breach procedures we have in place

If someone steals my computer or backup, I’ll let you all know.

What third parties we receive data from

None.

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data

None. And honestly not much non-automated decision making either.
